Role Summary
The Geotechnical Engineer will be responsible for overseeing geotechnical investigations, soil analysis, and foundation design support for major water infrastructure projects across Saudi Arabia. The role requires familiarity with water technical standards in KSA and proven experience in similar water-related projects.
This is a senior site-based technical role ensuring soil stability, foundation integrity, and compliance with geotechnical and structural requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Geotechnical Investigation & Analysis
- Plan and supervise soil investigations and geotechnical surveys.
- Review borehole logs, soil test results, and laboratory reports.
- Analyze soil conditions and recommend appropriate foundation systems.
- Evaluate ground improvement requirements where necessary.
Technical Compliance
- Ensure compliance with water technical standards in KSA.
- Verify geotechnical designs align with project specifications.
- Coordinate with structural and civil engineering teams.
- Provide technical recommendations to mitigate geotechnical risks.
Construction Support
- Monitor excavation, foundation works, and ground treatment activities.
- Provide on-site technical guidance during piling and earthworks.
- Review contractor method statements related to soil and foundation works.
- Address geotechnical issues encountered during construction.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare geotechnical reports and technical assessments.
- Maintain documentation of investigations and site observations.
- Participate in project meetings and provide technical updates.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- Minimum 10 years of experience with Bachelor’s Degree
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in similar water infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated familiarity with water technical standards in KSA.
- Experience in:
- Water Projects
- STP projects
- Pipeline works
- Water tank foundations
- Strong background in soil mechanics and foundation engineering.
Certification
- Professional geotechnical or engineering certifications are advantageous (if available).
Language Requirements
- English: Fluent (Mandatory)
- Arabic: Fluent (Mandatory)
Working Conditions
- On-site role across Riyadh – Dammam – Jeddah – Mecca
- Full-time engagement for the entire Four (4) Year project duration
- Travel between project locations as required
