Role Summary
The Chemical / Process Engineer will be responsible for overseeing water and wastewater treatment processes across major infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia. The role requires strong technical expertise in water and wastewater process control, ensuring treatment systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with regulatory and technical standards.
This is a senior technical site-based position focused on optimizing treatment performance, monitoring system parameters, and supporting commissioning and operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities
Process Design & Optimization
- Review and validate process design for water and wastewater treatment systems.
- Monitor treatment performance and recommend optimization measures.
- Analyze process parameters including flow rates, chemical dosing, and effluent quality.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications and environmental standards.
Water & Wastewater Treatment Oversight
- Supervise installation and testing of treatment units and related equipment.
- Oversee chemical dosing systems and process control mechanisms.
- Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and ICA teams for integrated system performance.
- Support troubleshooting and operational problem resolution.
Technical Compliance
- Ensure adherence to water technical standards in KSA.
- Apply industry best practices in water and wastewater treatment.
- Support compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements.
- Review technical submittals and process documentation.
Commissioning & Handover
- Participate in pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
- Conduct performance testing and process validation.
- Prepare process reports and operational guidelines.
- Support final handover documentation and client approvals.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience
Experience Requirements
- High-level experience in water and wastewater process control.
- Proven experience in:
- Water treatment plants
- STP (Sewage Treatment Plants)
- Industrial wastewater systems
- Strong understanding of biological and chemical treatment processes.
- Experience in process performance monitoring and optimization.
Certification
- Professional certifications in water treatment or process engineering are advantageous (if available).
Language Requirements
- English: Fluent (Mandatory)
- Arabic: Fluent (Mandatory)
Working Conditions
- On-site role across Riyadh – Dammam – Jeddah – Mecca
- Full-time engagement for the entire Four (4) Year project duration
- Travel between project locations as required
